I am an agnostic and have just begun reading the bible (now in Deuteronomy) because so many people claim to believe in it and it plays a huge role in our culture and politics. I am amazed at what a petty, wrathful, murderous dick god is. How can people worship such a god? There are many more scenes I could recommend for illustration, though it looks like this blog ended in 2010. Numbers 25 describes the straight-up genocide of the Midianites, for deeds that the Moabites committed. Makes no fucking sense. Numbers is full of instances where god kills thousands of Israelites for complaining (you know, because they're tired of wandering around). In Numbers 15:32-36 god orders a man be stoned to death because he "gathered sticks" on the Sabbath. In Leviticus 10, god kills two of Aaron's sons for burning the wrong incense. Then Moses tells Aaron's family not to mourn them. I could go on and on. The Bible is rapidly becoming my favorite anti-god book.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00964115298097700332noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2627688771506923728.post-43910724739852282992010-12-10T05:37:32.418+00:002010-12-10T05:37:32.418+00:00coolcoolZHENYA ZHURAVLYOVAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11725571287727536679noreply@blogger.com
